Avec une formation en \u00e9cologie et en \u00e9volution, et un int\u00e9r\u00eat pour les insectes, les oiseaux, les fossiles et \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s tout ce qui touche \u00e0 la zoologie, John est surtout connu pour ses quelque vingt livres et son ancienne s\u00e9rie t\u00e9l\u00e9vis\u00e9e \u00ab Acorn, The Nature Nut \u00bb. John est membre du corps professoral de l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 de l&#8217;Alberta, o\u00f9 il enseigne la biodiversit\u00e9, l&#8217;ornithologie de terrain, la gestion des parcs et la communication scientifique.
